art

Colorful abstract painting with splashes of pink, blue, red, and purple.

At stem, art is an integral part of the room. Our walls serve as a living exhibition space, regularly transforming with new artists, fresh work, and vibrant energy.

We showcase honest tactile art that feels authentic, full of character, and perfectly suited for real spaces. Exhibitions seamlessly blend with food, wine, and vinyl, blurring the lines between a gallery and a neighboorhood bistro.

All works are for sale (after exhibition period) . If you’d like to show with us, get in touch.

Archer makes use of oil paint as a vessel between intimacy and disassociation. These forms exist in suspended states. Subtle ruptures or shifts in perception aim to develop a pictorial language that oscillates between euphoria and tragedy, tenderness and unease. This process involves an integration of social and bodily systems through a method of layering, distortion, and manipulation. The work seeks to connect both the emotional and environmental landscapes we inhabit, creating a space where memory, perception, and materiality intersect.

Thomas Banks

Tom’s practice is rooted in abstract painting and guided by an instinctive process. Influenced by Abstract Expressionism, mediumistic and spiritual approaches to art-making, he works towards a state of reduced conscious thought while painting — a space where decisions around composition and colour become intuitive rather than deliberate.

His paintings emerge through a process of response and presence.

He paints exclusively on reclaimed wooden board, using found surfaces collected from the street, skips and discarded studio offcuts. These particular works were created on countertops salvaged from an abandoned Chinese takeaway.
